**In short:** CorpSec AI has three plans — Starter, Growth and Firm — each with limits on active companies, AI documents per month, KYC screenings per month, and team seats. Your usage meters are live and firm-scoped; the active-company cap is a hard limit enforced when you add companies. Self-serve checkout and card management run on Stripe, which is not connected yet — so plan changes currently route to "contact us". A separate client-billing tool (invoicing your own SME clients) is live.

> **Note:** Honesty note: usage counters are real and the company cap is genuinely enforced. But online payment (Stripe) is not connected yet — prices, invoices and the payment method shown in Billing & Usage are clearly labelled "Sample / preview", and choosing a plan shows "online billing is being set up — contact us". Nothing charges your card today.

## The three plans

Each plan sets four limits. These are the real caps the product enforces and displays:

| Plan | Active companies | AI documents / mo | KYC screenings / mo | Team seats |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Starter | 15 | 60 | 10 | 2 |
| Growth | 60 | 400 | 50 | 5 |
| Firm | 150 | 1,200 | 150 | 15 |

> **Note:** A firm with no plan set yet (fresh trial) is treated as Growth for limit purposes, so you are never blocked by a missing setting. Need more than the Firm plan’s 150 companies? That is beyond self-serve — CorpSec AI shows an honest "talk to us about an enterprise plan" instead of a dead upgrade button.

## Usage this billing period (live)

Open Settings → Billing & Usage. The Usage this billing period card reads live, firm-scoped counters for all four meters — active companies, AI documents this month, KYC screenings this month, and team seats — each with a bar, a percentage, and how much headroom remains. At about 85% a meter warns you; past the cap it turns red.

## What happens at each cap (live)

The meters do not all behave the same way past the limit, and CorpSec AI spells out each one:

- Active companies — a hard gate on adding companies. When adding one (by hand, ACRA sync or bulk import) would cross your cap, the request is refused with a clear "X of Y used" message and how many of your requested adds would still fit. Pricing is per-active-company, so this is the meter that scales with your book.
- AI documents / month — metered against your plan and shown here. Document vision extraction (reading a scanned upload with AI) pauses gracefully at its monthly cap rather than erroring — you can top up next cycle or upgrade. Plain-text and .docx reads are free and never consume it.
- KYC screenings / month — metered per firm against your plan.
- Team seats — the number of members your plan allows.

> **Tip:** The in-app usage nudge and these meters share the same ~85% threshold, so the warning you see in the dashboard matches the one in Settings.

## Changing plan (Stripe — coming soon) (soon)

The upgrade drawer lets you compare plans and toggle monthly vs annual (annual is two months free). Choosing a plan starts Stripe Checkout, and Manage subscription opens the Stripe billing portal for invoices and your card.

Stripe is not connected yet. Until it is, choosing a plan or opening the portal shows: "Online billing is being set up for your account — contact us to activate your plan in the meantime." The prices, invoices, payment method and referral link on this screen are labelled "Sample / preview".

> **Heads up:** To change your plan today, contact us — the in-app buttons will tell you the same. No card is charged and no real invoice is issued through the app until Stripe billing goes live.

## Billing your own clients (live)

Separate from your CorpSec AI subscription, the Billing section has a live tool for invoicing your own SME clients. It tracks receivable, overdue and unbilled totals, lets an admin roll unbilled items into an invoice (grouped per client and period), and Mark paid when settled. The prices come from your fee schedule, which also feeds the quotes and engagement letters the AI drafts.

> **Note:** Creating invoices and marking them paid are admin actions. This client-billing ledger is real data in your workspace — distinct from the sample SaaS invoices shown under Billing & Usage.

## Frequently asked questions

### Will I be charged if I click "Upgrade"?

No. Stripe is not connected yet, so choosing a plan shows a "contact us" notice instead of taking payment. Prices and invoices in Billing & Usage are sample previews.

### What stops me adding more companies than my plan allows?

A hard cap. When adding a company would exceed your plan’s active-company limit, the add is refused with a clear message of how many you have used and how many of your requested adds would still fit. Pricing is per active company.

### Are the usage numbers real?

Yes. The four usage meters (companies, AI documents, screenings, seats) read live, firm-scoped counters. Only the prices, invoices and payment method are sample previews until Stripe is connected.

### What happens when I hit my AI-document limit?

The count is metered against your plan and shown in the meter. AI vision extraction of scanned uploads pauses gracefully at its monthly cap rather than failing; free plain-text and .docx reads never consume the quota.

### How do I bill my own clients?

Use the Billing section’s client-billing tool — track receivables, roll unbilled work into invoices per client and period, and mark invoices paid. It uses your fee schedule and is live today.
