What AI actually does for a corporate service provider (2026)
The concrete places AI changes the day-to-day of a Singapore CSP — drafting, KYC triage, document ingestion and client memory — with honest before/after times and a clear line between what works today and what is on the roadmap.
Where AI changes the work — with before/after
These are the everyday CSP tasks where AI moves the needle. The “after” figures below reflect how the product is designed to work; treat them as representative of the design, and verify them on your own matters in a trial.
| Task | Before (by hand) | After (AI drafts, you confirm) |
|---|---|---|
| Director appointment / resignation resolution | ~20 minutes to draft and check | Drafted in seconds; you review and confirm |
| Annual Return package | Assemble and cross-check per company | Prepared and checked across the book; you lodge on Bizfile+ |
| KYC screening hit | Manually research each possible match | Triaged with a recommended disposition and rationale; you confirm |
| Onboarding a new client’s documents | Read PDFs, re-key into fields | Read into structured data for your review |
| Re-entering a client’s standing details | Retype every time | Remembered and pre-filled |
Drafting: from statutory template to finished document
The largest, most repetitive slice of CSP work is producing statutory documents — resolutions, consents, notices, filing packages. AI drafts these from the client’s data and the relevant Singapore template, then hands you a document to confirm.
The honest boundary: the AI prepares the filing; it does not push it to ACRA on its own. Nothing is submitted until you lodge it on Bizfile+. That is deliberate — it keeps the RQI in control of what actually gets filed.
KYC triage: the AI does the legwork, you make the call
Sanctions, PEP and adverse-media screening throws off possible matches that mostly turn out to be false positives — a different person with a similar name. Reviewing each by hand is slow and easy to rush.
AI triages the hit: it compares dates of birth, nationalities and other identifiers, recommends whether it looks like a false positive, and drafts the rationale. You make and log the disposition — the decision and its reasoning land in an append-only audit trail that would stand up in an ACRA inspection.
The current boundary: screening runs on mock data with honest degradation today, so it demonstrates the workflow rather than live-screening real clients. A production screening provider is on the roadmap. See where this sits in the software selection guide.
Document ingestion and client memory
Onboarding a client means turning a pile of documents into structured records. AI reads uploaded documents into fields for your review, so you correct rather than re-key.
And because the system remembers each client, it gets more useful over time: standing details are pre-filled, and repeated work stops being repeated. The compounding effect is the point — the tenth filing for a client should be faster than the first.
What to expect — and what not to
Set expectations honestly, because over-promised AI erodes trust fast.
- Expect: drafts instead of blank forms, triaged KYC hits, documents read into data, and a system that learns your book.
- Expect a human in the loop: every AI output is a proposal you confirm — the RQI stays accountable.
- Don’t expect: fully autonomous filing to ACRA today — the AI prepares, you lodge on Bizfile+.
- Don’t expect: live third-party sanctions screening yet — that is on the roadmap; today’s screening is a demo with honest degradation.
- Don’t expect: a one-click migration of a huge legacy book yet — the bulk-import channel is in build.
Frequently asked questions
Does the AI replace the corporate secretary?
No. It removes the manual drafting and re-keying, but every output is a draft a qualified person confirms. Under the CSP Act 2024 a Registered Qualified Individual remains accountable for the work — the AI makes that person faster, it does not replace their judgement.
Can the AI file directly with ACRA?
Not today. It drafts and prepares the filing package and tracks the deadline; you lodge it on Bizfile+. A direct ACRA connection is on the roadmap. Nothing is submitted until you confirm.
Is the KYC screening live against real sanctions lists?
Not yet. The screening and triage workflow is fully built, but it currently runs on mock data with honest degradation to demonstrate the process. Connecting a production screening provider is on the roadmap.
How does the AI “remember” a client?
It retains each client’s standing details and prior work so it can pre-fill and draft from context, rather than starting blank each time. That is why repeat work — the tenth resolution for a client — is faster than the first.
